School-to-Registered-Apprenticeship allows eligible high school students to begin apprenticeship during their senior year of high school. Students enrolled in an electrical vocational program would be ideal candidates for this program. Students must be at least 16 years of age and have completed their junior year of high school to be eligible.
This is NOT a method of direct entry into our program. Eligible students will go through our regular selection procedure.
Those selected for School-to-Registered-Apprenticeship will be eligible for cooperative employment with one of our signatory contractors and will be required to attend apprenticeship classes two nights per week during their senior year of high school. Hours worked in cooperative employment will be credited as on-the-job training hours and successful completion of the JATC school year will allow entrance to the 2nd year of apprenticeship school following high school graduation.
If you are an electrical student at an area vocational school and are interested in this opportunity, see our Application Process for information on how to apply.
